Attendance

Dear Students,
 
I will start implementing strict attendance guidelines that will affect your grade.  In order to pass this class, you need to attend the class.  I will begin to hold students accountable for absences, tardiness, and early leave.  If there is a concern over this; it will be important that you communicate with me the reasons for your absence or tardiness.  Thank you.

Cite the following within the essay:

3 Parenthetical Citations (MLA)

  • Paraphrased or summarized versions of the text


3 Direct Citations (APA)
  • Direct "quotations" of the text
  • In total, you should have 6 citations

We will discuss the article as well, make sure to take down notes!

Assignment 10/6

We will begin working on out second major paper of the semester.  I want you to start generating ideas for topics dealing with gender studies.

  • Look for online articles or newsworthy information
  • Make sure to have read them before class
  • We will discuss them in class.
Assignment
  • Present an abstract of what you plan on discussing in the paper (a short abstract is normally half a page in length)
  • Essentially I want you to write the first page of your paper, or have an idea of what you will be discussing.
  • REMEMBER:  What is your big idea?? (Thesis) What is your content and context? (See Our Words Tab)
  • All of this should be included in your first page
